I've liked this subject for some time, thanks for bringing it up again.

Here's what I'd like, and it might not be possible but hell anyway.

1) Instead of Dec., hold it in late Jan. about halfway through the conference schedules. By this time of year the basketball spirit is near fullbloom even at Siena.
2) Invite the top 3 from the two conferences - hold a one day event where the three games tip off. #1 against #1, #2 against #2, etc. Whoever wins the best of 3 gets to accept the trophy as a conference.
3) Like I said, important that the three teams are not specified until a week before the event. You take your best three during the season instead of trying to pick that before the season. It could give a little extra incentive for the regular season, and also would make sure you have the best-performing ballclubs on the court when the time comes.

It will never happen. But I like it anyway.
