I certainly agree that booing the team is not the direction we should be going in. However, it is frustrating at best to watch players putting in a sub-par performance against sub-sub-par competition in back to back games. I think the frustration level increases when: we hear Siena coaches repeat time and again that the team DOES NOT LACK an offense, we hear these same coaches state that the problem is due solely to defensive lapses, we watch players that aren't "in" the game get sent to the bench and IGNORED by all - teammates and coaches (case in point - Prosper last nite! I think Lanier was having his own temper tantrum), we see the same "OFFENSIVE" set each time the team manages to get the ball upcourt and each time it is less and less effective, we see repeated turnovers due to telegraphed passes made as if the defense is asleep, yadda yadda yadda. The coaching staff is not measuring up and recognizing that you can't win SIMPLY with defense and that even the worst teams can solve a simple ineffective offense as it is repeated one possession after another. Last nite we watched Proper turn the ball over on the first three possessions - the coaching response - replace zero offense with negative offense in the form of a mischaracterized POINT GUARD - Jackson is a liability. When he has the ball, the defense is free to double the ball as he has neither the direction, inclination, skill or guts to toss up a shot no matter how open. The Big East has games with 6 players a side while we compete with 4. It's nuts!
