Subject: Prosper having fun for most of Fairfield game... and other points without dreariness

Did everyone see Prosper posting up underneath against the 4 footer? He had this huge grin on his face, I think it was late in the first half. He actually missed the layup over the little guy, but got a rebound and then made it.

Agree with posts below, Austin had a very good game. It was unlike what we've seen in previous games, his scoring came from drives and aggressiveness - good to see. If only a couple of his threes hit - I think he may have only been 0 for 2 or something, but still.

The Deng towers are good, they just seem so tall. Well, basically Deng Gai that is. Pretty cool to see a team have a Alley-oop as one of their basic plays. The slam alleyoop pass in play in the second half would have been awesome if I were a Fairfield fan.

All that, but they still do not seem to be as good as their record indicates. Based on our first have, they are obviously beatable. I think they won because we stopped playing tough D in the second half. Not to take to much away from them, they came back and didn't let up after being down by so much. That says a lot about a team.

rdjc - Is the ref you were talking about the chubby one? Ok, maybe I see things through green and gold eyes but he was horrible in that game. It seemed like we just didn't get any good calls from him. Granted, the calls did not make us lose the game, but ug!

Paul Williams: Good: block catching the ball on the other team's shot. Bad: Pretty much tackling one of the Dengs (sorry I get them confused) when going for a rebound. He really took him down hard. I know players aren't expected to help the other team up or anything, but it kinda seemed like Paul stood over him like "Take that" or something. Would have been nice to see some good sportsmanship and extend a hand. Just my take.

Tommy Mitchell played really good in the first half. Oh, but where'd he go in the second half?

Coaching: I though Lanier had a good coaching style in the first half in this aspect: substitutions. He kept fresh feet on the floor and Siena just kept attacking Fairfield and keeping the pressure up. However, he somehow did not motivate the team enough during the halftime break to get them to come out strong again. He also didn't seem to make adjustments when necessary in the second half to stop FF's run(s).

Final take: A hurting Haddix is still the best player on this team. You could tell he was in some pain on his leg, but he played through it he played well and he played hard. He had good offensive moves against a player much taller than he and with much better leaping ability.
