Subject: if u guys are serious about a band

i'll look into it a bit.
first some thoughts.
1. when the held the hockey regionals the university of michigan band was here.
they say at their own request on the second tier end zone.
i asked the band director how come they didnt sit down lower. she said that the way the arena is laid out the acoustics were better from where they sat.
she was right they were loud all over the arena.
colgate band sat in the second tier on the sideline and u could only hear them across the way.
so the band doesnt have to be on the floor.
2. if they were to go on an invite basis and invite a different high school to play at each game they wouldnt have to spring for instruments or insurance. or uniforms.
they would have to pay for transportation. that would only be fair.
i dont have a lot of experience with bands but i have had some of the kids play at different functions that were not high school related.
senior citizen recitals. piano recitals. jazz ensembles. things like that.
a budget that would be needed would probably be in the neighborhood of 5 to 10 thousand dollars for the whole season.
i dont think siena has a school of music unless it is new.
so i dont think that there are enough students to form a pep band.
jack mulvey paid for the band at the ncaa's out of his own pocket. the green death might have been involved in that somehow too. not sure. the green death is very cheap. fixed incolme u know hee hee
