Subject: No Prosper in 03-04

It may only have been Loyola, but Prosper showed he can handle the point, and his presence there should make others more effective at their more natural positions.

There are no secrets in the MAAC, so no one should have been surprised at the pressure we have faced in league play. Arguably, the only surprise has been that more teams haven't really tried to turn up the pressure. The staff did what it had to do, in my opinion. Jamal has apparently not shown himself to be a competitor day in and day out, and given that he is 3 1/2 years removed from high school, it's understandable that coaches have run out of patience.

This brings us to next year, when we will no longer have Prosper to do what he did in the stretch run last year and what we all hope he will repeat this season. Rest assured that if we know how much we need a point guard for next year, the staff is even more aware and is actively trying to find someone who can fill the bill. They are in contact with a number of first rate PG's in the northeast. Some of the possibilities have been speculated about on this board, and there is at least one other they are evaluating. That's all I can say for now, but I am confident that they are as resourceful as they are adept at recruiting and will find someone who can step in and run the team.
