Looking at Xavier's schedule and how they've performed, for the most part, they've taken care of business. I watched the Stanford game, however, and that is a game they should have won(Richmond beat Stanford on the road a few weeks after that), and the Mississippi State loss was a poor performance. Outside of those two and the Richmond loss, they've beaten Cincinnati, Purdue, and top 20 Creighton. No doubt Xavier is the class of the conference, but I'm waiting for them to make some noise in the tournament. It hasn't happened the past couple of years, and I thought this was going to be the year. Then Lionel Chalmers goes down for the year with an injury. I don't know if they can make a deep run with a freshman point guard, even with West and Sato.

As far as conferences, they don't have any choice. They have to stay in the Atlantic 10. They've got no where else to go. Conference USA would be the one league that would make sense geographically and improve their RPI, but C-USA has become more football oriented in bringing in East Carolina and TCU. That won't happen. Otherwise, jumping to another conference would only help them marginally, if at all. They're not a good fit for the Mid-American, a conference that is almost entirely filled with public schools and a one-bid league to boot, and the Horizon League is not a step up, either.
