Subject: Congrats to Ruland and Iona

Tonight may have been the hardest I’ve ever seen an Iona team play. Ruland got the most he could out of a team that was playing a quite frankly a much more talented team in Siena. Iona scraped and hung in there, they really don’t have to many offensive options and they still hung in there. For whatever reason the Saints came out flat to start the game and in fact Iona actually out rebounded the much taller and bigger Saints by 5 boards in the first half. The second half Siena out rebounded the gaels by 10 boards for a 5 board margin for the game, most of Iona’s board were hustle boards beating the bigger Saints to the ball. Iona’s big men Hensen Smith and Washnman looked like runts next to Siena’s big men. And any talk about who’s freshmen class is better is over, Now don’t get me wrong I like Iona’s freshmen and I think they will be fine MAAC players, but they are not in Haddix/.Jordan and Williams league , Haddix was by far the best big man on the floor tonight and was a big part of the win, Iona didn’t have anyone to guard him, Henson wasn’t strong enough and Smith looked like a gnat next to Haddix, Washnmean probably did the best job, but Haddix was quicker than him.

All in All a good win for the Saints considering Tommy Mitchell and Prosper both played stinkers tonight
