personally, I think Williams is a bit overrated. I watched a lot of 'cuse games over the last couple of years and wasnt overly impressed with him. Athleticism and talent wise, he's certainly Big East (though I wouldn't rate him as among the best in the Big East) but I didnt think he was a team player (then again, neither was Shumpert) and he didnt play with a lot of smarts. Perhaps Ruland can get more out of him than Boeheim? Just my opinion mind you.
