Subject: Will Siena get a new on campus facility?

So what will it take, aside from the $40 million, to get Siena a 12,000-13,000 seat on campus arena? I'm just throwing this out there.

Siena is desperately lacking a vocal student section. Let's face it, a college kid isn't going to make the effort to treck down to Albany, free transportation and all, to see the Saints. If I had to guess, I would say about 250 students make the effort to get to a MAAC conference game during the week and maybe an additional 100 on a weekend.

We're blessed to have the Pepsi - imagine what it would take to get a ticket to a game at the ARC?

I don't think we've talked about this in a while. If Siena wanted to, a nice shiny arena would look nice in that big field they try to call a football field.

Unless a delusional alumni decides to gift the money for a facility, it'll be a while before we see one.

Also, for what its worth, The Pepsi has held up nicely over the last 13 years. It still has a pretty "new" feel to it. There has been a few arenas that have already come and gone in that time. The crook that put the financing together for it, did a nice job of hiring the right architect.

It's a pipe dream, but it's worth dreaming about.

An on campus facility could easily get close to 10k per game.
