Tony, Kashif Payne is fully qualified. A recent story on Rivals indicated that his reclassification was to help him improve as a player, not as a student (I've been told he's a good one). Expect some of the Big Five schools to be interested in Payne.

Interestingly, Payne was not the only 2004 recruit in attendance at the PC game. So was C.J. Lee, the PG from Pittsford Sutherland, who is also reported to be strong academically. I get the impression the staff would be very happy with either. I'm told that both are very good shooters as well as being very quick.

I also have the sense that the staff may try to find a creative way to get a PG this year. But don't expect him to get a scholarship. They are committed to Caldwell unless he does an about face on his verbal.
