ITN world news reports that a Thailand professor has been using coconut juice to run his car and outboard motor.

What, if anything, is being done by NARI or Unitech to find new uses for our dying coconut industry? What kind of research capability has any of our institutions to find alternative uses of things in abundance in the country? Or are we just going to borrow ready-made technology all the time from elsewhere?

People are working their guts out to earn a lousy income. Or would the oil companies not want this kind of discovery?
