But that was different for me and some others because we were 15 age old, so no more little kids. Like I have already said, I was not used to such physical examinations at school and I had never been submitted to pre-summer camps physical examinations. So for me, it was a new way of examination that even with the warnings of my father about the fact that the nurse was a "bitch", I had not expected, I did not expect to be treated like a little child with so few privacy. I think that only the boys who had been submitted to such examinations either at school ( but at school in France the parents were never invited to come and assist to the annual physical examinations, there could be present only members of the school, for me it was always the PE teacher after elementary school, so no big deal since he could already see us undressed in locker rooms and naked to go and exit of the shower area )or either for a summer camp or to practice a sport were less embarrased because there was no surprise, especially those who knew the nurse. But even for some of them, it was unpleasant, one of them told me that he had been examined in that way by that nurse but only when he was 12 years old before a summer camp, so he did not think that she could require the same set up for boys older like we were. It was not the same to be naked in front of parents at 12 age and at 15 age ! And I was horrified at the thought that she could ask to older boys of 16-17 age to strip naked in front of parents and that secretary. It was true, she did the same and the secretary was always present at each physical examination that year but I learned by talking with an older boy later that they were not so numerous, only 6 boys with 5 fathers and only one mother.. As regards my parents, my mother had understood that I was shocked by tha physical examination, so she did not ask at me to relate it in details, I presume that my father did it but we never talked of it after. My father talked to me after our exit of the physical examination and he said that I might not be embarrassed because it was usual to be naked for teenage boys with that nurse, and that even the privacy of adults was not well respected ( she was watching when the male doctor asked him at each of his annual physical examinations to pull down his underwear, I thought that it was better to pull down for a short while an underwear than to be stark naked like we were instructed to be for a long time), that he had warned me about the unfair methods of the nurse, he did not like her, and he tried to minimize the situation. I hd no reason to be shamed, I had nothing to hide even to other parents, I might be lucky to have a good health, and now that it was done I could go to the swimming pool like I wanted to learn to swim. Even if he thought that it was unfair to instruct us to strip naked, he did not tell it to me in that way. I presume that he was not surprised because he knew the nurse and like most adults he did not thought that a male teeanger might be too modest. We did not talk of the difference of treatment of girls and boys but I am sure that he agreed that girls neded more privacy and respect of modesty than boys, it was so widely admitted by adults. I must recognize that even if myself I was shocked by the difference, I understood in fact that the girls were not treated like we were, the unequality between genders was admitted even by me.I would have not believed if someone had told me that the girls were instructed to strip in the nude in front of their fathers... My father knew also that I was a shy boy, too modest, so he told me like had told the mother of one boy that I might learn to be naked in public because it would come again for the military service. If it was certainly embarrassing to be naked that day in front of all the parents and the secretary and the nurse, it would be worse when I would be summoned at 18 age for the report in front of the draft board commision since I would be naked in a line of 20 draftees and parade or stand naked in front of a dozen persons- all the members of the draft commission -and that it lasted also a long time ... We never talked about that examination later but he often told me not to be too shy and to be prepared for my future exam in front of the draft board commission, and he related a few times his own draft physical examination and other examinations after induction all being performed in the nude in public in order to warn me. Anyway the subject of the compulsory military service was really often discussed at family meets when there were sons in a family, it was not a taboo subject, even if some women like my mother did not say anything, others like a younger aunt did it, she was often asking for a relation of the male members of the family and was laughing each time when they said that they were stark naked in a large group sometimes and were parading in that state of nudity in front of all the members of the draft commission, and she told ( I remember it vividly because it shocked me each time ) that she would have liked to be a mouse to watch all the young men naked. Just before I reached the age of 18, it became a more common subject with my grand fathers or uncles and each of themm related his physical examination in the nude like if it was a joke ( I understood later that it was indeed a little a joke ) and I disliked when one sibling was talking of that especially in front of aunts or female younger cousins who laughed also ( of course, for them, it was funny since they were not at all concerned ) and eventually after my own physical examination, I was questioned about it and how it was carried on, no matter if I was embarrassed to talk about it just after, they wanted to have details... Normally we were two groups of teenagers, one of boys of 14-15 age with a young male swimming instructor and one of girls of same age with a young woman swimming instructor and our schedules were the same in the swimming pool but we had separate locker rooms and shower areas in the community swimming pool where the swimming lessons took place two days by week for an hour. Nothing odd during the first two months, except that a woman cleaning lady was sometimes, not each time, entering in the locker room while we were changing or showering if we were late (but it was the same at the locker rooms at school for Pe lessons, it seemed that the cleaning ladies had always the right to enter in all locker rooms without waiting that every boy ( I don't know for girls if they did it also) had finished to change or to shower and dry). It was not always the same person but more frequently a middle aged woman who smiled if we were still undressed and replied the first time as we complained and tried to protect our body from view that we were already late and that we might be out of the locker room if we had gone faster, we might hurry up if we dont want to be disturbed, and anyway that thre was no ned to use our hands because she had already seen a lot of boys in the nude and that we might not be embarrassed, because she did not look at us, she was just here to do her job. It was in a certain way the swimming instructor who was responsible for the late, so he did not say anything to her and did not try to prevent her from entering and stay to do her job, he instructed us like her to hurry up. But on the third month, we had a surprise because our swimming instructor was leaving his lessons for one month for training in university and for a such a short time they did not hire an other male swimming instructor, we were told by the female swimming instructor that she would take us in charge with the girls for one month and subsequently she lead us with the girls in the same locker room that we might share for a month. Once inside we were sent on the benches along the wall of each opposite, she said to the girls to sit and to wait, and to our great surprise and embarassment, she said to us to undress and put our swimming suit immediately and to face the wall to change, it was totally unexpected and unfair since even if we were exposed only by back, we were forced to expose our naked butts to the girls sitting very pleased on the opposite side, we changed quickly, but nevertheless the girls could see for a short while our naked butts and we can hear them giggle without any word to stop it by the female swimming instructor. When it was finished and we were all wearing our short swimsuits kind of speedos in the same color blue since they were provided to us by the sport club, she told us to get out for a short while and stay in the corridor while the girls would change,and she stayed at the entrance door to prevent us from taking a look in the locker room. It was unfair because the girls could have stayed in the corridor while we changed like we were instructed to do while they changed but obviously the female swimming instructor, a woman mid twenties, was thinking differently. When one boy complained about our exposure to the girls from back, she laughed and said that it was not a big deal, boys had cute butts, and nothing to be shamed if girls could see them, we might not be silly and we did not need the same level of respect of privacy or modesty as girls because we were boys and future men .. it was the end of the discussion. She was rather strict with us certainly because she was not used to be in charge of boys as she recognized one day and feared to have not enough control on a group of 15 boys. So for one month, two times by week, it was the same set up in the locker room and we had to change in front of the girls by back. It was certainly a funny and pleasant situation for them and they might be glad that our male swimmming instructor was not availuable and hope that it would last a long time. It was worst for the showers because we might go first to the shower area but she instructed us like did our male swimming instructor to remove our swim suit and to go stark naked to the shower area which was at the back of the locker room behind a wall in the middle of the room with two open spaces on each side, there was no place inside the shower room to put towels, so we might undress completely and lined up naked with a soap in our hands as instructed at the entrance of the shower area on our side, and even if did not say anythyng when she saw us trying to protect our genitals from view by crossing our hands in front of them, for our naked butts and all other parts of the body we could do nothing, so that time it was obvious that the girls could see perfectly our rear and a little more and for a more long time because the line up began once a boy was naked but lasted as long as seven or eight boys were not standing naked ready to enter and go under the shower heads,the first group, it was worst for the boys of the second group, I was in that group, because she told to us to wait in the nude facing the wall as long as the first group had not finished and came back on the bench. She came at the entrance of the shower area and when there was a first group she instructed to the boys to enter and to stand under a shower head, and she watched their showers giving some instructions like to wash properly and thoroughtly the genitals even by retracting the foreskin and beneath and to wash their cracks with much soap, the girls who were always sitting could hear her instructions since she was forced to shout because of the noise of the water and it made them laugh. The few girls who were sitting at the end of the bench near the open entrance on their side were even more lucky since they had certainly a better view, even inside the shower area if they leaned a little towards it. She supervised in the same way the second group of boys. After during the lesson when there was a small recess, some of the girls teased us about the fact that they had seen us our butts naked or seen us washing our genitals by back or washing our cracks with our soapy fingers, and a few of them said even if it was not certain, it could be, thatthey had seen our genitals by front when we were showering. Like always some girls were shy and did not talk much about it while others were glad to tease us about it and told that they liked very much the new set up in the locker room, that they hoped that our male swimming instructor never come back, because they enjoyed to see each of us naked and that they would have been mortified to do the same as us but we were boys so it was normal for us! And of course, the shower of the girls was very different they could keep their one blue piece swim suits and shower wearing them, they were not supervised inside the shower arra by the woman swimming instructor and did not have instructions on how to wash, and we might again go on the corridor when they changed after the shower. After a few lessons we were more used and anyway fortunately our male swimming instructor came back after a month and we had again separate locker rooms.
