Cleveland St, Duquesne, Fla Atlantic....

Come on. Let's see you defend that schedule, Mr. Perfect.

If soccer had the earning potential that men's basketball had , then I'd agree with you 100% . I'm sure the soccer program along with most other athletic programs at NU would love the opportunity to secure the guarantees that are available to the basketball program.

In a way, I don't blame JAM, it is the AD who has the responsibility to step up and make decisions with the best interest of the university.

The Syracuse game is there for the taking, infact, there is no risk since Canisius ( weaker program ) drew nearly 15,000 for their game. Obviously with the NFHS connection , the game would have great interest throughout WNY.

If Syracuse isn't scheduled in the Harris & Flynn era, it will NEVER be scheduled again . God forbid, that a game be scheduled with fan appeal in mind.

Yeah, fan appeal to see Syracuse, not Niagara. You think 15,000 people went to the HSBC to see Canisius?

Next game, Canisius didn't draw 1000 people.

That's some real good fan interest if you ask me.

Purp 1 says: You play Syracuse when you can field a team that can challenge and defeat them.

Not sooner.

Seriously, do you really think we couldn't play with SU on a regular basis?

I am serious, I think we can but feel playing on s regular basis is key. Under that condition NU’s “story” is enhanced and athletes, IMO, would find NU a more attractive place to play. A one year deal will not work; however, play them for 10 years straight and I believe the game becomes a solid athletic investment.

Re the 15,000 fans that watched SU play Canisius, does it matter who they came to see? Canisius still made a lot of dough, right? If 15,000 will come for Canisius imagine how many would want to see four starters from the same high school? Maybe for the first time in 40 years there would be scalpers for college ball in WNY. What’s not to like?
