To those that are convinced that NU would lose to Syracuse by 40 pts , using the Sagarin rating system to calculate point spreads , had NU played Syracuse at the end of the past season Syracuse (home ) would have been a 10 1/2 point favorite.....if the game is played at HSBC , Syracuse is no more than a 6 or 7 pt favorite. Obviously the oddsmakers have more faith in NU than some on this board.
The possibility of losing by 40 comes from the style of play ( run/gun/no defense ) rather than the talent of the players.
