Can SPU do it again ? Can it reach the Final 4 ? Can they win the National Championship ? Can you even imagine a MAAC program winning the Dance ?

The MAAC is already the first conference to have a 15-seed advance to the Elite Eight, so anything beyond this would just be ridiculous....hell, it's already ridiculous.

Remember UNC is the lowest seed SPU will be playing to date. They have already beaten a 2,3 and 7 seed, so why not a 10 ?

Good point, Soup, but the Peacocks have lost their surprise advantage...UNC will be well aware of how good they are.

Sorry to say North Carolina will bury them. The party will be over. And they(UNC) are an 8 seed not a 10 seed. Big Ten was highly overrated. ACC isnt. Good run stops here!

My prediction is looking good. Thought Holloway acted like an arrogant jackass after the last win.

Yep, you called it... UNC / SPU is like men vs. boys.

Just remember that the "boys" defeated Kentucky and Purdue.

So what? It was a fluke. Other teams took them too lightly and had overrated conferences. Siena took down Big 10 and Pac 10 teams in the past but not the ACC!!

"Head coach Shaheen Holloway said he wished he could have a "re-do," saying he thought Saint Peter's would win a do-over."

Yeah right. Showing no respect for UNC. If they played UNC 20 times they would lose 20 times.

Thats exactly what I'd want my coach to say. You think they got this far by respecting their opponent and telling themselves that they have absolutely no chance? Come on. Thats your job as a coach, to make your players believe they can beat anyone (which they have shown that they can). I dont know how you can say they would lose 20 out of 20 to UNC when they just beat Kentucky and Purdue last week

Showed no respect for UNC. Classless.
Big 10 overrated. NU almost beat Ohio State.
Kentucky has history of failure too. Lost to Robert Morris a few years ago.
The buck stopped with UNC. Would win 20 out of 20 despite Holloway's BS.
Yes. The 3 wins were a great accomplishment. St Peter's will shortly be forgotten just like Lehigh and Florida Gulf Coast.

I'll bet you wouldn't be saying that if Niagara had gone that far instead of SPU. They generated a bunch of money for themselves and the MAAC, and if it had been NU, they would have received more publicity than ever in their lifetime, even during the Calvin Murphy years. Their internet school search numbers would have exploded and no doubt they might generate some additional applications.

SPU's footprint in the tournament was enormous. A poor school got some attention and I think that is stratospheric in terms of PR, even though the campus sits in a bad area.

Great job St Peters for the 3 wins...lets put this in perspective. St Peters was the 1st 15 seed to advance to the Elite 8...The First. It was an historic run. It gave great recognition to the players, the coach, the university and the league. He was not dis respecting UNC, he was pissed that his team did not plat well, how may open shots rimmed out or rolled off the rim in the first 10 minutes of the game, after that the game got away from St Peters. UNC should win that game and they did, Kentucky and Purdue should beat St Peters as well, but they did not...thats the beauty of this tournament...In the end the power conferences will rule the roost.
That being said, Hollaway will be named the new coach of Seton Hall this week, he is taking the payday and no one will blame him as that is his alma mater....Crazy times in NCAA basketball.

Predictable path ... the coach will be on the short list for a bunch of D1 jobs (not "big" but definitely a step up from SP) and once he leaves, recruiting goes with him. The run will be good for the school's publicity but ultimately, it's a 12-loss team that had a historic run over a couple weeks ... so from a program-standpoint, they might get more looks from 3/4-star recruits but nothing that changes SP's basketball trajectory too much. And if the coach leaves, it's actually negative.

Yes. I wouldnt have said it if NU had done it because GP wouldnt be a jackass and said we could beat UNC and would have enough class to compliment UNC.

Yeah, the coaches get offers. If you have a stiffy for Holloway, keep it about him. Has nothing to do with the great accomplishments of his team.

Team flaunted BLM throughout the tourney. I think being political in sports is classless no matter what your view is . Keep it to another venue.

Sports should remain apolitical on the court.

Being political in sports is here to stay. It's on the back of every helmet in the NFL. Every one. Now you are switching your focus to something else. You seem to have a lot on your plate here besides a basketball game.

And there it is...was obvious from the start that your criticism of Hollaway had nothing to do with basketball.

Not to do with his success as a coach. Had to do with attitude. So you are right. But I never said he was a bad coach.
