Any big coming out of High School that has any kind of talent isn’t going to a MAAC school. The best recruiting strategy is going after JUCO/Transfer bigs.

FYI regarding bigs and big programs. For example, Duke has 15 players on their roster and 8 of them are 6'9" or taller. That's why mid-majors can't get bigs. If they can play, they go to the big 5 conferences.

Kids want to play. If they just want to tell their friends and families that they are on the Duke roster, good for them. But when you're a high major OR high mid-major kid, you want to play basketball NOT sit on the end of the bench.

And that's what happened to me ! If I had gone to Niagara or some of the other programs that offered me, I would have been a starter. The problem was that I loved the school, it had my major, and all I had to do was show to practice. What did I get: a full scholarship, tuition & room and board, etc.. But I wasn't use to not playing, so game days were not fun, for the most part, even when we won.
