From NYC Hoops:

After verbally committing to St. Peter's late last month, we caught up with Boys & Girls big man Kyrie Sutton. After consulting with his coach and ultimately his parents, the senior came to a stunning decision.
"I'm not sure what I want to do yet. I'm here to get more looks," says the 6'8" senior center who has decided to de-commit and participate in the Hoop Group Elite Camp, which ran from July 5th until the 8th at the College of New Jersey.

NYCHoops spoke with Boys & Girls assistant coach Elmer Anderson who said, "Kyrie's parents wanted him to explore all his options before making a decision."

According to Anderson, Sutton went on a visit to St. Peter's and verballed on the spot to the chagrin of his parents.

According to Sutton, what also changed his mind was a recent visit to Binghamton University's campus. "I liked the large campus," says Sutton.

Sutton has been one of the top performers at the Hoop Group Elite Camp (formerly known as the Eastern Invitational) according to the camps director, Lamar Barrett.

"Sutton is a big man that runs the floor well and is an imposing threat both offensively and defensively in the paint," says Barrett.

When asked what he thought of his performance at the Elite camp, Sutton replied, "It good. Kind of fun. Kind of easy so far."

St. Peter's coach John Dunne was in attendance at the Hoop Group Elite Camp but could not be reached for comment.

Asked about how the St. Peter's coach felt about his decision, Sutton replied, "Coach Dunne was kind of upset and surprised that I was here but I guess he understands that I'm to here to benefit what's best for me," says Sutton. .

Now that Kyrie Sutton is back in the mix, we asked him which colleges are still in the mix.

"St. Peter's of course. There's St. Bonaventure. Manhattan, Binghamton and a few others."

Asked when he plans to make his final decision, Sutton responded, "Right after the Hoop Group Elite Camp."
