Living as close and dependent on each season as I do, guess my instincts are more like a wild animal than human in some ways. I've lived in this home for 32 years, and have never seen a snow fall this early. Yes, there have been the rare cold night, with a skiff on the ground the next morning, that would melt as soon as the sun came up, we even have had that in JULY LOL. BUT, a real snow fall does not happen till mid till the end of November. Last year it was really early November 15 or 16 we had a snow like this, and it stayed all winter, by spring our average snow amount on the ground is over six feet.

I'm an environmentalist since I was about 20, but while there are "hot" spots around the world and the climate at the north and south pole are both getting warmer, there is another factor in play that is NOT 'global' warming. With the changes already in the Gulf stream that goes across the Atlantic, and the air currents, there has already been a major cooling of parts of Europe. Besides growing my own seeds and putting up as much dried food as possible, we're getting as much wood cleaned out of the woods as we can.

My personal prediction for the climate is not good, but also nothing like has been predicted. I love the four seasons, and wonder how long it will be that we have to enjoy such beauty? Have you ever read "Silent Spring?"

Big hugs, Anna May
