I, too, am amazed at the paintbrush staying put. Less than 50 feet away...there is a huge tree snapped in half.

This kind of thing happened once before. There was a Cat.3 hurricane heading for SC. Can't remember the name of it. My Mom was in ICU and residents were told to evacuate. I packed up all important documents and anything else we might NEED. Her doctor gave me permission to stay at the hospital with her. I remember getting to the hospital and she asked if I had taken her potted plants inside. I told her No...I didn't think to do that. (she was in intensive care fighting for her life and the first thing that she asked about was her PLANTS) She said..Oh well, they can be replaced. Anyway, I prayed that after it passed I would have a home to take my Mom back to. Indeed, a tornado touched down in our neighborhood and uprooted many trees, ripped roofs off of some homes, and destroyed several others. Her plants? They weren't even blown over. Everything was just as I had left it. Not even any debris in the yard to clean up.
I count my blessings and am grateful.
