You have missed the point.
Whether or not what is being taught is Kriya is not the whole story. It is not disputed that some lineages and individuals received Kriya in different ways, with different techniques being added or omitted.
Who knows why some received Navi Kriya and some didn't. I have noticed that those which practice Navi Kriya take the breath in a different way to those which don't. Perhaps there is a reason for this, who knows? Lahiri Mahasaya knew what he was doing, but the same cannot be said for everyone.
No-one was taught to mix and match different systems. It may be that certain combinations of techniques may even do more harm than good.
Yogananda certainly made many alterations and innovations. I am willing to believe that he was competant to do so. Can we be sure that Kriyananda possesses the same understanding?
