1) The 24000 year cycle described in the Holy Science relates to an orbit of the solar system about a point in the galaxy outside of the solar system. This is known to occur to those who have studied astronomy. I would have to look up the exact cycle time but I seem to remember it is approximately 24000 years.

2) The 25000+ cycle refers to the procession of the earth's axis. I quote from Burnham Celestial Handbook:

"Precession is caused chiefly by the pull of the Moon on the arth's equatorial buldge and , to a lessor extent, by the pull of the Sun and the planets. The total effect is to make the Earth's axis perform a circular "wobble" resembling the motion of a "dying top," with a period of about 25,800 years."

Indeed even if the 25,700+ is the actual figure that should have been used in the Holy Science, the round off is insignificant with the system that Sri Yukteswar was disputing - where a Kali Yuga is 432,000 years.

I think the author of the article clearly misses the point of the calculations in the Holy Science. The 24000 years is clearly an approximate number of years in the cycle.
