Thanks for posting this Hendrik. It is interesting.

Sri Yukteswar states at the beginning of "The Holy Science" that the sun takes a distant star as its twin and this causes the procession of the equinoxes. This is certainly not supported by modern astronomical knowledge.

"The Holy Science" was written at Babaji's request, and in "Autobiography of a Yogi" we are told that Babaji asked Sri Yukteswar to show the similarities between the Hindu and Christian scriptures. Although there are some cross references, it is hard to see that this is the main purpose of the book.

It is also said that Sri Yukteswar asked Yogananda to base his mission in the west on this book. Again it is hard to see how this was carried out.

I would be interested to hear other people's views.
