One can imagine an SRF minister suggesting a re-reading of SRF Lesson 51 on the Guru/disciple relationship. Your Kriya initiation gives you techniques, AND signifies your entry into the holy Guru/disciple relationship with PY. PY as the Guru
still holds the keys to your awakening.

PY's techniques result from his having gone all over India investigating & experimenting with various yoga techniques. He sorted it all out into what he found was the best, most efficacious presentation for people of every culture.

Once I read a Paulson book titled, Sunburst, Return of the Ancients. It contains some profoundly strange, entertainingly bizarre actually, tales, like his involvement with Waldo the hitchhiking alien, a photo of a plump man & woman standing in the desert whom Paulson claims are angels, Paulson's stories of his telepathic communications with UFOs, and more. To him it's all true. Is it really? Who knows! In the book Paulson recounts living briefly at Mt. Washington with Master and his roommate D. Walters. Then he left, struggled through alcoholism, had a couple of marriages, and helped found a commune. It was successful for a while, but ultimately folded. The seaside Tajiguas valley it had occupied became, sadly, the trash landfill for Santa Barbara and Goleta, now nearly full.

It's pretty difficult to think of Paulson as a true guru, even if the man himself may be spiritually advanced, as some attest on the internet. The general proposition that after he was briefly with Yogananda, is now presenting techniques "better" than Yogananda's, is hard to buy. I don't! Echoes of his roommate. Maybe they do seem better…to him. In my humble opinion, it's better to practice guru-given techniques and resist enticements leading away from the guru.

Apologies for sounding so staunch.
