Well you can not really. But science does not provide room usually for transcendental experiences.

What does happen though is that experiences that we think of as being transcendental often become sensual in respect due to the minds memory of, attachment to and desire for the experience again. The person is then standing in the doorway blocking their own entry. In Zen, for example, it is called "the stink of enlightenment", and lasts sometimes for years.

This is one reason why some teachers never talk about experiences and tell their students to forget about them.

It is all "grist for the mill", don't yo thik.
