Hmm. While it might be plausible that religious belief or observance carries some distinct, marginal health benefit, I don't see how this article even comes close to showing it. The article itself notes some other factors that bear: "the low levels of occupational stress,...high levels of personal resources and contemplative lifestyle...." Plenty of time to chill out, little exposure to the daily stresses you and I deal with every day.
Nor is any comparison made with, say, agnostics or atheists who lead a laid-back lifestyle.
Moreover, the article provides at least some evidence that runs counter to the idea that religion simpliciter contributes to longevity: the "flocks" did not share the longevity of their "shephards."
