I think the article is diverting attention from the real issue. Israel is bombing the Palestinians back to the Stone Age and the U.S. establishment continues to interfere in remote countries, disrespecting their traditions, exploiting them economically, and exporting Western values such as democracy and free market which may be out of place in these regions.
This is easy to see and the result is that the more aggressive characters from these (mostly poor) countries are now attempting to take revenge. There is no shortage of them and they cannot be stopped by military means.
Now this article tells us that meditating will solve the problem. I do not know whether it will do so, but I do know that in this way Donald Rumsfeld and the other representatives of American interests won't change their current strategies. In its worst interpretation the article advocates avoiding to face the chauvinist facts and instead seek refuge in auto-suggestive hypnotism.
Ridiculous. Let the U.S. entirely leave the Arabic/Islamic countries, cut most of the economic connections to those countries or transform them to a decent trade, and abandon all military support for Israel -- and I GUARANTEE that very soon there will be no more terrorist attacks like that of Sep 11.
