Illicit drugs have no place in the spiritual life as far as I'm concerned. I, years ago, thought that these psychoactive plants(mushrooms, marjuana) were the "food of the gods". As most people mature and find Kriya and other meditative paths they usually come to the realization that these illicit drugs are a detriment to their mental health. Kids today are looking at the 60's and 70's as a "cool time" where drugs were believed to expand your consciousness and take you higher. One must decide for themself if they will partake in these chemicals. But have you ever tried to meditate after smoking pot? I wouldn't advise it if you want to progress.
