When we are able to be honest with ourselves and see that all we have done counts for naught and that we are unable to help ourselves, then the kind grace of that Intelligent Universal Presence descends. It is at this point we truly begin to understand. Honesty, does not include, nor count, as false humility or feeling sorry for ourselves due to our faults. It is a realization that happens. Techniques, bliss and wonderful experiences are all transitory things, they come and go, due to our will power. To try to maintain such phenomenon is to be stuck in experiences. The Universal Awareness descends when one has been made ready through practice. To get caught up into experiences and techniques along the way only delays our meeting with the divine.
It is rare to find a Guru that DOES understand and does not let one rest in the satisfaction of techniques, bliss and wonderful experience brought about by "spiritual practice". Khechari Mudra has not been necessary at all.
