The fact that we do not fully understand Babaji does not mean that we have to accept everything that is written about him. The fact that something cannot be disproved does not make it true.

It may be noted that Yogananda, who played such a vital role in the dissemanation of Kriya Yoga seems to have met Babaji only once (although Babaji left with a promise to see him again), Sri Yukteswar three times, some other saint disciples of Lahiri Mahasaya also met him, but such meetings were very rare. Sri Daya Mata writes of how she felt Babaji's prescence on a pilgrimage to the Himalayas, but even then Babaji did not meet her in the flesh.

It is all very well for you to say that I cannot be sure that Govindan and his organisation are not genuinely connected with Babaji, but by the same logic, you have no way to be sure that they are.

Anyone can claim to have met Babaji, and been authorised by him to teach. You, me, Yogi SAA Ramiah, Norman Paulsen, Homer Simpson, Rin Tin Tin. Anyone can make these claims, it does not mean they are true.

What we can be sure of is that the system these people are teaching is not the same as the Kriya Yoga taught by Lahiri Mahasaya. They teach 144 Kriya's, the systems taught by the spiritual descendants of Lahiri Mahasaya do not use anywhere near that number. Govindan's organisation teaches things such as imagining the sandal of Babaji resting on your head, and imagining a torrent of blue water flowing etc. This has nothing to do with the Kriya Yoga which most of us are familiar with. It is not the Kriya written about in "Autobiography of a Yogi", but a different system with the name Kriya.
