Welcome to United Communities of Spirit
http://www.origin.org/ucs.cfm

"We believe that the spiritual transformation of global culture can arise through a cooperative network system, that brings together into one linked context the highest insights of all religions, and coordinates the participation of millions of people."

LIGHTWEAVERS

"In a process of sacred coalescence that unites the lightbearers of this planet in one communion, we are working together to build a global network of spiritual light.

Our network combines insights from every religion and spiritual tradition, as we seek to build illuminated community among the people of the world. We share a vision of unity in diversity, that honors plurality, and recognizes the great richness of alternative spiritual perspectives and interpretations. But we also recognize a universal transcendence that bonds the human community as one."

The Lightweaver's Credo

"We believe that the spiritual transformation of global culture can arise through a cooperative network system, that brings together into one linked context the highest insights of all religions, and coordinates the participation of millions of people."

This credo briefly summarizes the mission and philosophy of the Lightweaver network. There is no "official" Lightweaver interpretation of this credo. Each member of the network is free to interpret it in their own way, assigning their own meanings to the words and concepts included

The "spiritual transformation of global culture" can be understood at any level or to any degree. It involves the healing and spiritual integration of individual human beings, each in their own way, through the universal nonsectarian power of Spirit. It can refer to a slight spiritualization of culture through a process of gradual influence, or a profound and radical change.

A "cooperative network system" can refer to a system of personal relationships between human beings, or to a philosophical system of interlinked ideas. It can involve any sort of network of relationships, operating at any and all levels of human interaction, including intimate personal relationships at a local level, and involving all communications media, including print and the Internet.

"One linked context" can refer to a tightly connected explicit philosophical system, or a loose and implicit general awareness. It could refer to any means by which individual human beings interconnect and communicate with one another, including spiritual awareness or any sort of communications media.

The UCS Network

"In a process of sacred coalescence that unites the lightbearers of this planet in one communion, we are working together to build a global network of spiritual light. "

"Sacred coalescence" is a gradual process of fusion and unification, that occurs at many levels, from the biological to the philosophical, as "the many" becomes "the one" in a gradual and transformative process of creative realization. In this context, it can refer to a unity of awareness, interconnecting ideas in an individual person as they fuse into an expanded consciousness, or to a unity of awareness shared by many people.
To say that "lightbearers unite" is to say that the religious and spiritual people of the world, from a wide range of traditions, begin to gradually recognize a common foundation and experience a unity of consciousness
A "lightbearer" is any person who loves "the light of truth", and bears that light within his/her being, to the best of their ability and understanding.

A "lightbearer" can come from any religious or spiritual tradition
To say that we come together in "one communion" is not to say that we all adopt "the same religion", but that our spirits and heart and energy become attuned to a common divine source of being

Our "global network of spiritual light" is composed of our relationships, the bonds of mutual support and caring we build with one another, and our recognition of common principles which transcend differences

"Our network combines insights from every religion and spiritual tradition, as we seek to build illuminated community among the people of the world."

We recognize the validity and value of a variety spiritual philosophies
Each of these philosophies can contribute to our understanding
These elements can be combined in uniquely personal ways by each individual in our network
The universal common factors and shared truths that are common to most traditions form the core of our ideas.

Through this simple and universal philosophy, we believe the bonds of global community can be strengthened
"We share a vision of unity in diversity, that honors plurality, and recognizes the great richness of alternative spiritual perspectives and interpretations."

We recognize "one source", as the common ground of all traditions. As the Hindu Rig Veda says, "Truth is one; sages call it by various names."
Each individual religious and spiritual tradition expresses the eternal and universal truth in its own way
"But we also recognize a universal transcendence that bonds the human community as one. "

But this one truth transcends the concepts of any one particular philosophic system.

The diversity of the traditions can be understood to meet at an apex, a highest common center
