I can't wait to see the transformations for the semi-finals which take place in 2 weeks. I think Mr. Lee said that they hope to crown the new rep. by the 14th or 15th May. Eight (8) finalists will be chosen to compete for the final.

From the few pics I have seen I have to say that this competition is Gabby's to lose. She is way ahead of the others in terms of beauty. She has a flawless pic in the Trinidad Guardian today and the interview was excellent. She seems like the complete package. I have no idea if the boob job issues were corrected since MW2008 but if it was
not then that is the first thing the pageant team needs to do-get the boobs redone, if indeed Gabby wins MUTT2011.

The San Fernando screening may have been small but I have to say that apparently the best ladies screened in South. I expect Britteny Alvarez (South), Renee Bhagwandeen (POS)along with the Tobago lady in the pink ss (don't know her name) to place in the final 8.

I have to say it-the MWTT2011 lineup is way better than the MUTT2011 lineup, BUT REMEMBER we just need a great winner-not a great slate of local finalists. LeAnn Forbes and Gabby are my top picks for the respective titles. I have a good feeling about Gabby's chances at MU this year and I am already convinced Ms. Forbes is in contention for the Miss World 2011 title. It will be very difficult to beat LeAnn if she is prepped well for the MW interview.
After the last 2 years of disappointing results, these 2 ladies can put TT back on the international beauty map in a big way.

[> Subject: I totally agree with you Trini77, I think you always know what you are talking about and you do have good taste in beauty. I also think Gabrielle Walcott is our best hope for Miss Universe and also think the best bet for Miss World is Lee Ann Forbes. They have what it takes to make a huge impact. I really hope Gabrielle wins Miss T&T Universe, she will do great at Miss Universe. By the way, do anyone know why Adrian Raymond, Peter Elias and Leah Guevera have not been on the selecting panel of the Miss Universe T&T pageant?. Are they still on board?

I really appreciate it.

O.K. have have to admit it- Gabby's pic in last week's Trinidad Guardian is by far the best I have seen from her. I don't recall a better look at MW. At MW she placed exactly where I predicted she would-3rd. For MU, I am having a very good feeling about her chances. Although she is certainly not the typical MU body type-if she places in the final she can realistically go very far. Renee looks like her biggest competition so far and I also expect the dark indian lady present at the last screening to make the final 8. I can't wait to see how they look.

On an aside, in terms of overall slate of candidates, I have to say that Miss Universe Jamaica 2011 is certainly the best I have seen in years for that nation.

I think she realistically has a great chance at placing in the top 5 at Miss Universe. I really hope they pick her as Miss T&T Universe. What do you think about Renee?. I agree with you on Lee Ann, she has great potential to do well at both Miss Universe and Miss World

...to me looks good but not internationlly competitive (at least from what I have seen thus far). Maybe this will change when I see more of her. If I get a clear pic of her in SS from the front then I could be more certain. For now she just looks like another beautiful lady who could be clapping onstage at MU. Really, if Vaneeta or Anna Rosa was in the MUTT line-up, would Renee appear this competitive-ABSOLUTELY NOT!

That being said, any delegate could look like a disaster in ever pic leading up to the local final-It has been the case for me that what I predict based on how the lady looks during the local final night of competition pans out in the international arena. For instance, Kenisha was a hot mess in every pic (with the exception of 4 or 5, if that much- at this time I can only recall two) before the local final of MWTT2004. However, for the final competition she was a flat 9.0 in my opinion. So at least for me, only the final night is decisive for ALL the delegates.

For now the only international competitor I see in the MUTT line-up is Gabby. For MW, we have only sent one candidate since Giselle's win who could have grabbed the int'al title-that was Valene. If LeeAnn wins she will be the second.
