O.K. So I have finally had a look at all the ladies (well I can’t recall who was the 17th so I probably only looked at the SS shots for 16).
Instead of saying something about all 16, I am just going to cut the fat first. I am not going to say who I think the local judges will place in the final 8 since they sometimes don’t know what the heck they are doing (e.x. Jenna’s exclusion from the final 8 last year). I have to say it again, I don’t give a flying fish about who anyone likes or how many other pageants a delegate competed in or won– I just want the BEST REPRESENTATIVE to the MU pageant. At this stage-the semis- only the top 8 INTERNATIONALLY COMPETITIVE ladies (IN TERMS OF PHYSICAL BEAUTY) should be selected. I don’t care what they have to say for the semis- they passed the prelim interview so we know they have intelligence. We are selecting a rep. for a BEAUTY PAGEANT and not a modeling competition. I don’t want the fittest body to win the SS competition or be in the top 3 of the final – I want the MOST BEAUTIFUL BODY to win-PERIOD!!! She must have the face, shoulders, boobs, waist and hips we expect to see from a MU- DON'T JUST PICK A TALL STICK!!!
The photoshopped pics are really overdone but based on what I have seen from these official pics and untouched photos this is what I have to say of the 16 I can recall (at this point I don’t care to figure out whose official SS pic I probably did not see):
QUITE OBVIOUS THEY COULD NEVER PLACE AT MU BASED ON MERIT:
Brittney, Crystal De Gannes, Kareesia, Meagan Monsegue, Bernice, Cherrese
That’s 6 ladies that should not even be in contention for the crown but I expect Chereese to sneak into the final 8. If Meagan Monsegue places in the final 8 then someone needs to slap the judges and tell them this is MISS UNIVERSE and not some regional pageant like Miss Caraval.
There are only 2 currently who seem to be the total package:
Greer Iton and Gabrielle Walcott (ONE OF THESE SHOULD BE MUTT2011)
Additionally, the other sure top 8 ladies apart from these 2 are (in random order):
Renee Bhagwandeen – I still don’t see what the hoopla is about. She is a model with a pretty face and an O.K. body (even though she is basically right at the peak of her top form) .You could literally see the EFFORT she is putting in to her official SS photo. For me, up to this point all she can do at MU is clap for the finals.
Jeanette – Absolutely slammin’ body. She will have one of the best SS scores at this year’s pageant. (TOP 3 possibility at the local final).
Kristy St. Rose – absolute model but would make a good top 3 finisher. I have to see her for the final to know if she really does have a competitive body. Based on the official SS pic however, she looks like her body is better than Renee’s by a mile.
Other ladies I want to see in the final:
Candace Guppy – needs to lose like 10 lbs but has enough to make the local final 8.
Jessica Didier – Beautiful face! She will not be MTTU2011, but if she is at least 5’8”, then get her a boob job and send her to MW and then MU because she would place.
The final spot for me should go to Shinequa. I HAVE TO SEE THIS YOUNG LADY ON SCREEN-she is definitely not MUTT2011 but there are literally only 2 options for this lady –either she is just another pretty face OR she can be a great future MU finalist. I see some real potential based on the official SS pic and I am keeping my fingers crossed she is indeed as tall (5’10”) as she appears in her photo.
The remaining ladies that I don’t mind seeing more of are:
Juliana James (I absolutely hate her official SS pic but I suspect that she looks much better in person/on video), LaTisha (I just have not seen enough of her)
I don’t know who was #17
So in conclusion, the top 3 currently are:
1. Gabrielle Walcott
2. Greer Iton
3. Cristy St. Rose
