Howdy Robert;

I could find no one with the last name of "Smirtnik" listed on either the Coffelt KIA Databse nor on the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall website (both of which are pretty inclusive insofar as Vietnam-Era KIAs are concerned). I also checked possible alternate spellings with no luck there either. It is possible that a "Don Smirtnik" did serve during the Vietnam War, but you give us no dates, no branch of service, and the probability that he was KIA is about one in two million. Are you pulling our leg or what?
