Howdy Bruce;

Something is amiss here. Where did you get this information from? The official records state that both 1LT Koss and MAJ Davis died from hostile causes (they were also both posthumously awarded the Purple Heart which is not awarded for non-hostile causes) and the province name of where the incident occured on 7/7/72 is given as Quang Tri (which is the northern-most province of South Vietnam). Furthermore, the plane or planes (I still haven't been able to figure out if both guys were on the same plane or not) are stated to have crashed at sea, i.e., in the Gulf of Tonkin. There is no body of water larger than a pond within a 200 mi. radius of their base at Ubon, Thailand.

And yet you say that they crashed within 5 mi. of Ubon? Well, that could be because I wasn't there, but if that is true, then a lot of official records are wrong.
