Thomas,
I was a Navy Hospital Corpsman in Vietnam. I want you to read and understand what I am going to say here. As a Corpsman, I was highly trained in my field. However, all the training in the world did not help me the day when I got hit after trying to save my Marine friend, Michael Marshall Clayton. The guilt that I had all these years I had buried until it broke out and caused me endless grief. I have had to retire due to PTSD. I had it from day one of entering Country but denied it because "Grown men don't cry". It was also demeaning at that time to acknowledge that you were a Vietnam Veteran. Thankfully, years later you can go to the VA and get the help you need in order to cope with your guilt. Please go today and do so for your daughter and family and also me.
