Howdy Tom;
SP4 Gregory Douglas Cornett's Army serial number is US 53758110 (which means that he was drafted) and his MOS was 11B20 (light weapons infantryman). He was born on 3/7/49. His tour of duty in Vietnam commenced on 9/5/68 and he was assigned to "A" Co., 1st Bn., 506th Inf. Rgt., 101st Airborne Div. He was KIA on 5/18/69 in Thua Thien Province due to "Hostile, Ground Casualty, Multiple Framentation Wounds". His home town of record was Putney, KY, his religion was Methodist, and he was single.

How were you able to obtain this information? Is it possible for you to help me as well to find some info on a dear friend of mine who served in Thailand and VietNam. I have listed his infor below.

Jim joined the Air Force some time in the summer of 67. From his addresses you can see he was in North Dakota and then went overseas. First to Thailand some place called Phitsanulok around April of 69 or sooner. July of 70 went to Binh Thuy, Viet Nam
Trained the Thai army with the Air Commandos and fought in Nam. Was a Sargent in May of 1969. Don't know what rank he did finally reach. Stayed in the Air Force for 20 years.
My friend passed away this past September and he was trying to tell me what happened to him over there that destroyed our friendship and caused us to loose contact with each other for over 35 years. I was engaged to him at the time that _____ war destroyed that love. I am seeking info on what he did over there, what conflicts he was involved in and how he was wounded and when and where he was stationed when he returned to the states.. Is it possible for you to help me find these needed answers. I am seeking closure of some very open wounds and would be very thankful for your help. We had only been back in touch with each other for a short 5 months before he passed away.

God Bless you.

Kathy Hadley
