Subject: Effects from materials handled in weapons during Viet Nam War

This may seem like a very odd request, but I would like to know if anyone is aware of any affects, which could effect someone who loaded/handled the weapons/bombs on B52 bombers in the 1960s. My husband was stationed in Shreveprot LA. and was a Weapons Mechanic. He recently passed away from cancer of the lung which metastasized to the brain. Someone within the Veterans Admin. mentioned to me that I should research what he was handling in his job with the Air Force to see if it was service connected. If you have any idea where I could research the actual material handled there and any safty issues known about the material, I would appreciate it.I do not know where to start. Thanks
