Thank you Wayne for trying to explain a subject that is so very hard to explain. It is kind of hard to imagine that someone doesn’t know the history of the Vietnam War but it is also possible. Below you’ll find an email I sent to Chloe that will hopefully answer the question if this is a serious inquiry or just someone pulling our leg. . . . Anyway, thanks again, Wayne, not only for answering a difficult question on the board but also for your participation here are several years. Take care, Bro and God bless. . . . . . . Beanie

Chloe, It is hard for many of us to imagine that there are those that don’t know about this part of history or something that was a huge part of many of us here presently. I apologize that you may have received some crude answers to your question but I feel if we knew a bit more about you, we would know more of what you seek and can help provide it for you.

Such as your name or ‘handle’, Chloe. To some this may infer someone from a foreign country or perhaps even a younger person. Truthfully, Vietnam veterans are not a trusting bunch of people for those from the “outside” and probably the only veterans that will call their fellow veterans, brothers or sisters.

We have a lot of stories in the Literary Section of War Stories but not much that covers the political or reasoning in a “police action” that turned into a full scaled war. I’m sure that many here would be happy to share their knowledge, personal thoughts and experiences with you if you are willing to share part of yours.

Hoping to hear from you soon. If you seriously want to know about the Vietnam War, this is where to get the answers from those that were there. . . . . .Take care/God bless.
