Hi Amanda,

Our responses to Nate I think sum up our feelings about the story. One thing that was a sore spot back during the Vietnam War was not being able to vote. As the song lyric goes “old enough to fight but not for vote’n” was something that was very unfair. I wonder if the voting age laws had been changed earlier how long our involvement in the Vietnam War would have lasted. It also brings up the question of what would happen if the draft was reinstated because of our “occupation” of Iraq. It’s easier to “vote” to go to war if you don’t think you will have to do the fighting and dying. Something to keep in mind when you get the chance to cast a ballot in the future.
