You're very articulate but apparently young. This is not new ,politics has always been more important than military needs. Even in World War Two it was usually more important who got their picture taken with what big shot, what ally got dibs on a theatre of operations etc. Now we use aircraft carriers for politics for the evening news.Welcome to the way things are , have been ,always will be.
