The war or combat has a unique effect on returning home. The message when you're there, or in it, is to never be less mentally. That mindset is captured in stone even on re-entry. Very dificult to seek help after standing tall and being accounted for when it counted. Trying to segue or bridge the gap between war and peace is dificult for combat vets. Help is there today, it was not for the Nam Vet. I would advise the current Soldier to seek it. We deal with two vastly different worlds. I knew guys who survived one, but lost in the other. Some guys hung by a string to survival at home after re-entry, and today live as a survivor of two wars from within. Some weren't so lucky.
