Joe, I understand what you're saying and I agree with your reply, however let me add one little tidbit to Realism. We all know from our days in utilities or fatigues, realism is a luxury afforded to those who study and ponder the situation. It's like the historian who views everything in hindsight with all the facts jotted down on paper. Realism was never part of the equation as a Soldier in War. Do'ers and accomplishers rarely deal with Realism or they wouldn't dare to challenge. Realism lends itself to pessimism. When commanders and generals sit down to realistically look at a war in progress, that generally means they are contemplating defeat or at least in part, and trying to figure an exit strategy with honor. Until the decision is made to pull the plug, it is full speed ahead with enthusiasm.
