Subject: Mud by Patrick Camunes

Hi, My name is Samantha. I am from Pembroke Academy. My english teacher asked our whole class to read 5 stories and then write a response on them. We will be graded on the content of our writing. I decided to write a response to your storie because it caught my attention and really made me think. I can not even imagine what it was like to have been in that mud with leeches or creatures all around me. I get scared very easily so I know that wouldn't have been very easy for me...I am sure that it was not easy for anyone. I don't want to sound like I don't know anything about the conditions over in Vietnam. I know it sounds like I have it easy and I know that I do have it very easy from what you have experienced in Vietnam. Being in the mud would be very uncomfortable. Not that I would know from experience or anything but just from what I have heard. I am in the middle of reading the book "The things they carried" by Tom O'Brien, and I in a part they we have just read it talks about the "fields" and in the fields it is human waste and rain water that the men had to walk through and they went looking for one of they friends that was killed. This just reminded me of that story. I am very grateful that you had done what you did. If you would like to respond to me please contact me at sweet_pea_sammy38418@yahoo.com. Thank you very much for your time
