Howdy John;

I had assumed above that the Army Graves Registration/Mortuary Affairs units were in the Medical Corps, but they aren't. They are in the Quartermaster Corps. The only Graves Registration unit at Long Binh was the 483rd FS Company (see http://www.qmmuseum.lee.army.mil/mortuary/MA-Vietnam.htm ). I don't know what the "FS" stands for. Long Binh was just one of many collection points. The two mortuaries were located at Tan Son Nhut Air Base and Da Nang.

I'm not sure how you can get in touch with someone who was in the 483rd FS Co. during 1966 because I don't know which battalion the company was in. The Military.com website does not go below the battalion level.
