Howdy Diana;

Wow! That's really tragic. It's not unusual for someone to have known a KIA from the Vietnam War or perhaps even two, but three all from the same town is quite rare.

SGT Alonzo Hughes Taylor was KIA on 6/11/70 and his unit was "C" Company, 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile).

SP4 Thomas Anthony Eckl was KIA on 2/20/68 and his unit was "A" Company, 1st Battalion, 46th Infantry Regiment, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, 23rd Infantry (Americal) Division

SFC Earl Eric Shark is one of those few cases of an unaccounted for MIA. His unit was "A" Company, 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. After being listed as MIA for almost 10 years, he was officially declared to be "presumed dead" on 7/5/78. His body has never been recovered.

I used to live in Claremont, CA which is right next door to Pomona. You and your husband have my deepest sympathies on the loss of your friends.
