I have the privliage of knowing one of Monty's nieces in San Antonio. She showed me the article of a news paper cliping, that says Monty was awarded the Distingished Service Cross. He was also nominated for the Congressional Medal Of honor. He was credited for killing 16 North Koreans in hand to hand combat, single handedly. You are right in saying that He truly is an American Hero. He fought in 3 Wars like you say,WW II.Korea,AND 3TOURS IN VietNam. I myself am in total awh of knowing of this Great American. Raygrunt VietNam 1969 USMC
