Subject: Search for MIA's

Article from the Az. Republic, 1/15/06. A reflection by a Tech Sgt. on his trip to Vietnam in search for clues on the 1,800 MIA's still missing. "The first day we went out to the first site, we landed on a landing zone and I got off that chopper and looked around, and all you could see is this green lush jungle canopy and huge hills. I cannot imagine getting off a helicopter, being under fire with a 50lb pack on my back and to have to fight my way down through the jungle to an objective that somebody who hadn't been there told me to get. 'Very Humbling.'

The Tech Sgt. went on to say he was awed at the thought of the Vietnam combat veterans, some of whom were drafted, fighting in such formidable conditions. The Tech Sgt. is from the 944th Fighter Wing, 302nd Fighter Squadron, stationed at Luke AFB. (Air Force Reserve Wing) The Tech Sgt. is a veteran of the Persian Gulf War.
