Because your incubator is in an air conditioned space it will be hard to get the humidity any higher. The humidity outside of the house is not a consideration. The sportsman draws in more fresh air (which is necessary because of its size) then the Styrofoam ones. This means more drier air conditioned air.

My incubators are now in a heated brooder house and can make use of some of the natural humidity here. The down side is all my eggs must hatch before the temperature gets to the upper nineties and over a hundred.

I know this does not directly answer your questions.

Because you have water running down the glass on the inside of the door, the air outside of the incubator is cooler than the air inside – a lot cooler. Like the condensation on the outside of a glass of ice water. This is working against you. The hatching chicks need the additional fresh air – but the fresh air is cool and dry. I believe this is why they don’t have as much time to hatch.

I also use the GQF incubtors, best to keep them in a room without the air conditioner.(below 95) Best thing to do is add another water pan, also lay eggs flat and manual turn the eggs 2 times a day, plus use the auto turner.
