Subject: Peacock staggering, difficulty walking

13 year old peacock, wasn't eating. wings drooping. after three days, not even attempting to perch at night.
wormed him with Panacur yesterday.
this morning he ate some bread & few grapes; first time I've seen him eat food in about five days.
Drinking water o.k.
looked like he was panting... breathing with mouth open the past two days.
This morning, mouth closed, eating. but weak, very weak.
any ideas of what this could be?
suggestions welcome re: treatment.
