peacocks of their own

My peafowls are kept in secure pens (with top wire to keep
peafowls in and predators out)
Why? because a peafowl can fly away and then have NO idea
how to find the way home...unless there is a peafowl
back home to make a loud call to guide him.
A peafowl has a very different nature than a chicken.
My penned peafowls will perch in their coops and rain
shelters because that is where the perches are.
A "free range" peafowl will find the tallest tree to
perch in eve in the worst weather. And no matter how tall
a tree is it can be climbed by a bobcat or cougar.
Hawks and owls fly even better than peafowls.
